Application
● Flame Retardant & Plastics Industry
Aluminum hydroxide is extensively used as a flame retardant and smoke suppressant in polymers, including plastics, rubber, and textiles. Upon heating, it decomposes to release water, cooling the material and inhibiting combustion without producing toxic gases. This makes it an essential additive in fire-resistant materials for construction, automotive, and electronic applications.
● Water Treatment & Environmental Applications
Due to its excellent adsorption properties, aluminum hydroxide is used in water purification processes to remove impurities, heavy metals, and phosphates. It is a key component in wastewater treatment plants and industrial effluent management systems, helping to maintain environmental safety and compliance.
● Pharmaceutical & Medical Use
In the pharmaceutical industry, aluminum hydroxide is a primary ingredient in antacids, neutralizing stomach acid and relieving conditions such as acid reflux and indigestion. It is also used as an adjuvant in vaccines to enhance immune response, improving vaccine efficacy.
● Ceramics, Glass & Chemical Synthesis
Aluminum hydroxide serves as a raw material in the production of aluminum-based compounds, ceramics, and specialty glass. It improves the mechanical strength, durability, and heat resistance of ceramic materials, while also playing a role in chemical synthesis for catalysts and specialty coatings.
